Our Support Team

Leah Tagatac, Practice Manager

Hi there, I’m Leah, and I am the Practice Manager for the EMTC team! I was born in the Philippines but have lived in Santa Barbara, California majority of my life. I support mission-driven therapy practices, healers, and wellness leaders in building businesses that feel aligned, grounded, and sustainable. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations, medical billing, HIPAA compliance, and EHR implementation, I bring strategy, structure and soul to the work behind the scenes — so clinicians can focus fully on supporting healing and transformation.

My passion lives at the intersection of service and systems. I help streamline operations, simplify technology, and create intentional workflows that reduce overwhelm and restore clarity. When the foundation of a practice is steady and supported, therapists are free to show up more present and connected to the clients they serve.

At my core, I am a compassionate problem solver and lifelong learner who believes that business can be both efficient and heart-led. My work reflects Empowered Mind Therapy Center’s commitment to empowerment, growth, and whole-person care — honoring both the clinician’s wellbeing and the client’s journey.

As a mother, nature-lover, and advocate for personal growth and mental health, I value balance, flexibility, and living with intention. I believe that when we create supportive systems in our work, we create more space for presence, purpose, and meaningful impact — in our businesses and in our lives.

Ashanti Taylor, AMFT
Community Care Coordinator

Hi there, I’m Ashanti, and I am the Community Care Coordinator for the EMTC team! I am a Black, queer therapist and creative wellness practitioner based in the Bay Area of California. My work is deeply informed by relational, liberation-centered, and body-autonomy frameworks, as well as the wisdom of Black queer science fiction authors who write about liberation, community, and existential possibility.

For the past 7 years, I have immersed myself in movement and creative arts as a path to self-discovery. In the last three years, I’ve honed this practice into supporting others through movement and intuitive art-making as tools for emotional regulation and self-expression. Some of these somatic-based art practices draw on storytelling, imagination, intuition, and tactile creation to help bring what is unknown, body-known, or unspoken into awareness, for understanding, release, and/or integration. I show up in my work with authenticity, curiosity, and a touch of humor, holding space without judgment as we explore our complexity and humanness.
